Role Overview

The Building Surveyor plays a crucial role in providing Churchill Estates Management with accurate and dependable stock condition assessments and asset management insights. This involves performing thorough surveys and generating inspection reports to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

The Building Surveyor will contribute to the strategic management and upkeep of our property assets, including overseeing Section 20 Major Works consultations and fire risk evaluations, thereby ensuring our Homeowners receive the highest standards of safety and accommodation.

Reporting to the Property Services Director, the Building Surveyor will collaborate with the property services team located in Ringwood, Hampshire, thus flexibility for meetings and training sessions in Ringwood is essential.

Your primary contacts will include the Property Services team, Homeowners, Health & Safety Lead, Lodge Managers, and Regional and Area Management teams, along with regular interactions with contractors, suppliers, and Landlords.

Due to the travel requirements of this position, occasional overnight stays may be necessary, with all related expenses reimbursed.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 09:00 to 17:30 and Friday, 09:00 to 17:00.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Building Surveyor position will possess a minimum of HNC or degree level education in a relevant construction or property discipline. Professional qualifications such as RICS, CIOB, or ABE are preferred, along with a valid CSCS card.

Experience in the construction or property management sector is essential, coupled with a strong understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, and Fire Safety protocols.

The successful applicant will exhibit excellent communication abilities, comfortable engaging with contractors, clients, Homeowners, and internal stakeholders. You will be highly organized, proactive, and methodical in your approach, thriving in a dynamic environment with a keen attention to detail and a positive attitude.

Proficiency in IT is required, particularly with MS Office applications including Outlook, Teams, and Word, enabling you to draft specifications and survey reports effectively.

A valid UK driving licence is mandatory.
