Position: Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN


Are you a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting students with Autism? We are currently looking for an ASC Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN School in Harrow on a full-time, long-term basis.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students with Autism, addressing both academic and emotional needs.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the unique requirements of each student.
  • Support students individually or in small groups, both inside and outside the classroom, to enhance their learning and personal growth.
  • Help foster a positive and inclusive educational environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborate with the school's leadership team and SENCO to develop and execute personalized support plans for students.
  • Build positive relationships with students, establishing trust and rapport to encourage their active participation in learning activities.
  • Assist in assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and external agencies to ensure a unified approach to student support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour incidents, and any additional support provided.
  • Engage in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting SEN students.
