Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a leading FMCG manufacturing company in the Haydock area. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct fault finding and repair of plant, machinery, and equipment to minimize production losses.
  • Participate in planned preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with the Site Head Engineer and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities meet company and regulatory health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Time-served Engineer with a certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in fault finding, repair, and maintenance of machinery, hydraulics, electrics, and other production-associated systems.
  • Production environment experience essential, preferably in a FMCG organization.
  • Competent to attempt most aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with control systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Able to read schematic drawings and diagnose faults quickly and accurately.
