Position Overview

Job Title: Lead Safety Assurance Engineer

Compensation: Competitive salary based on skills and experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily engaged with the Typhoon project while also having the chance to contribute to other initiatives
  • Conducting independent safety evaluations to facilitate the delivery of Integrated Support & Training Solutions for our domestic and international clients
  • Assessing current processes and contributing to enhancements to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to service level agreements
  • Collaborating with the Product Technical Authority to provide assurance levels concerning proposed support modifications

Required Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A background in Safety or a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, or experience in through-life engineering with an interest in transitioning to Safety Assurance.
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Safety Standards (e.g., UK Regulatory Framework, Def-Stan 00-55 / 00-56, Mil-Std-882, DO-178, DO-254, ARP 4754, ARP 4761, EN 61508, etc.) is advantageous

About the Support Safety Team:

Joining the Support Safety team presents an exciting and vital role within the safety framework of the organization. You will work closely with the Project Chief Engineer's Office and the Head of Independent System Monitoring (ISM), maintaining independence from project teams to ensure a thorough and impartial approach to safety assurance. Your duties will encompass Independent Safety Assurance (ISA) and compliance with Design Organisation Regulations, demonstrating our commitment to the highest safety standards across all business areas. You will conduct audits across various departments, requiring a broad knowledge base across all support activities. Through our comprehensive management approach, you will focus on understanding the intricate effects of support functions on overall aircraft safety.
