Job Title: Air Condition Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Air Condition Engineer to join our team. As an Air Condition Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all above-ground sanitaryware and general plumbing in ASDA stores, as well as maintaining and cleaning all surface and foul water drainage systems in ASDA stores to pre-determined standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Complete PPM schedules within agreed timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
  2. Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
  3. Order spares to the laid-down procedures.
  4. Procure essential parts and materials and liaise with the GSM to affect the repair and minimise disruption in the store.
  5. Make recommendations to the RFM regarding suitable replacement/alternatives where necessary.
  6. Attend cell meetings as and when required.
  7. Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the Head of Plumbing and Drainage.
  8. Assist Plumbing/Drainage Engineers in other areas when requested to do so by the Head of Plumbing and Drainage.
  9. Ensure all tools and equipment necessary to complete maintenance and repairs are available and serviceable at all times.
  10. Supervise, monitor and control the work, attendance and timekeeping of the Plumbing/Drainage Trainees to ensure quality standards and efficiency is maintained.
  11. Ensure all staff are aware of and understand company practices and procedures relating to plumbing/drainage systems.
  12. Attend training courses as and where necessary and ensure personal and plumbing/drainage team job skills keep pace with technical developments.

Requirements:

  1. High degree of flexibility in working hours, shift working - to provide standby cover to ASDA stores outside normal working hours.
  2. High degree of mobility - travelling throughout the area.
  3. Personal fitness - nature of the job requires the job holder to climb ladders, working in confined spaces etc.
  4. Achievement of PPM schedule within agreed timescales.
  5. Timeliness and accuracy of written and verbal reports.
  6. Maintenance of Health and Safety policy.
