About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team on Templar Ward at Newton Abbot Hospital. As a Band 5 Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients recovering from acute illnesses, with a focus on stroke and neuro rehabilitation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, ensuring the highest standards of care and supervision of junior staff and students.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to patients and their carers.
  • Develop a broad spectrum of clinical proficiency to deliver nursing care, with opportunities for ongoing learning and professional development.
About Us

Templer Ward is a 30-bedded ward within Newton Abbot Community Hospital, offering a supportive and collaborative environment for our nurses. We provide ongoing care to patients following an acute illness, with 20 beds dedicated to specialist stroke/neuro rehabilitation.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse Adult
  • Current/awaiting registration with NMC
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience working in stroke/neuro specialty
Key Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care
  • Effective communication skills
  • Management of acutely ill patients
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members
