Kent Range 5 - £25,002, 4 days per week/26 hours, Term Time Only plus 5 INSET days

Job Summary:

The Higher Level Teaching Assistant role is a vital position within the school, involving the planning and preparation of lessons and learning activities. As a key member of the education team, you will be required to cover full classes in the absence of colleagues, manage and supervise pupil behavior, and contribute to the maintenance of effective school administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare lessons and learning activities
  • Cover full classes in the absence of colleagues
  • Manage and supervise pupil behavior
  • Contribute to the maintenance of effective school administration

Requirements:

  • The Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Level 2 qualification in English/Literacy
  • Level 2 qualification in Maths/Numeracy
  • Ability to provide evidence of a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Necessary experience of teaching year groups within Key Stages 1 and 2
  • Excellent classroom practice with the ability to create a classroom atmosphere that is achievement orientated

Desirable Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and other team members
  • Ability to contribute effectively to support team work
  • Willingness and ability to move between key stages if required
  • ICT skills for both personal and classroom use
  • Highly organized with the ability to work using your own initiative
