Future Build Recruitment is working with a leading residential contractor to find an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential construction and new build projects, with a focus on cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Oversee project budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery while maintaining high standards.
- Procurement: Manage tendering, negotiate with subcontractors/suppliers, and ensure value for the company.
- Valuations & Payments: Prepare interim valuations, monitor cash flow, and manage timely payments.
- Contract Administration: Handle variations, contractual disputes, and administer contracts per relevant terms.
- Financial Reporting: Produce cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts, updating management regularly.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior quantity surveyors, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in residential construction and new build projects.
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC), cost management software, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with a meticulous eye for detail.
