Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC)
  • Evaluate students' language skills and create customized learning strategies
  • Conduct both individual and group tutoring sessions to enhance students' English proficiency
  • Develop engaging and interactive educational materials to facilitate learning goals
  • Track and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback and support
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support personnel to promote a comprehensive approach to student growth
Essential Qualifications:
  • Recognized teaching credential in ESOL or a related discipline
  • Experience with UASC or at-risk youth
  • Familiarity with safeguarding protocols and best practices
Educational Background:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related area

Professional Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in teaching ESOL to a diverse range of learners

Skills and Competencies:
  • Thorough understanding of English language teaching techniques
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Capability to modify teaching methods to accommodate individual student requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate qualification in TESOL
  • Experience with refugees and asylum seekers

All stated pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for a permanent role in the future.
