We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Affairs Senior Associate to join our team at McNeil & Co. in a hybrid working environment. As a key member of our Compliance Function, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all business activities are conducted in a compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake regulatory horizon scanning and maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK regulators, including the FCA, PRA, Lloyd's, and international regulators, where relevant.
- Review new publications from regulators, including Consultation Papers, Policy Statements, guidance, Dear CEO letters, and enforcement cases.
- Interpret, assess, and prepare summaries for key stakeholders, including undertaking gap analysis when required.
- Review firm-wide policies and procedures against regulatory requirements and best practices, completing a gap analysis accordingly, making recommendations for change and monitoring for closure.
- Provide regulatory guidance and advice where required.
- Support compliance and regulatory projects, including assisting with the implementation of legislation and regulation, and enhancements to the Compliance framework, processes, and procedures.
- Participate and contribute to the delivery of the annual Compliance Plan.
- Drive improvements in areas of responsibility and propose changes to improve compliance and business efficiency.
- Liaise with senior stakeholders on a variety of Compliance-related queries, requests, or actions.
- Support the development of training materials and provide training where relevant.
- Contribute to Compliance Board and Committee reporting.
- Promote a culture of compliance by raising awareness of compliance and regulatory matters and encourage adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Minimum 5 years' regulatory or Compliance experience within the UK insurance market.
- Ability to understand the detail of regulatory publications and their application.
- Ability to articulate complex regulatory themes or requirements concisely.
- Good interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and interact with regulatory authorities.
