About the Role

We're seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our software development team, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering secure software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and business applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software using distributed enterprise frameworks, ensuring high-quality and standards-based solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure software meets our quality standards.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software components, identifying and remediating code defects.
  • Enable the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.
  • Automate deployments in test and production environments, ensuring seamless and efficient software delivery.
  • Scale applications based on demand projections, ensuring high availability and performance.
Requirements
  • Proven years of software development experience in a professional environment, with a strong background in Java application design, development, and automated testing.
  • Intermediate knowledge of basic infrastructure technologies and components, including application containers and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with event-driven and microservices architecture for high-availability and distributed systems.
  • Experience with Spring Framework, JUnit, GitHub, Microservices, Splunk, and APIs.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git) and build tools Maven or Gradle.
