About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Specialist to join our Integration team at Penguin Random House UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing a robust data migration framework and managing data migrations to support our business and project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Integration Team to align data migration activities with overall integration strategies and objectives.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data migration strategy to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Create standardized packages to extract, transform, and load data from legacy systems, preferably using Azure Data Factory.
  • Support future requirements for accessing legacy data.
  • Manage and execute smaller data migrations for our Technology teams.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to additional migration resources to ensure project success.
  • Document specifications, business processes, methodologies, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across Technology.
  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of migrated data.
  • Build a data migration asset register, validations, and reconciliation processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in data migration activities.
  • Work closely with various functional, business leads, and testing teams.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including project managers and application owners, to ensure alignment and transparency.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Migration Specialist who is proficient in ETL using SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, and Stored Procedures. You should have a strong background in data governance principles and data quality assurance. Additionally, you should be skilled in creating data validation tools, templates, and documentation.
