About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Caretaker to join our team at Johnsons 1871 Ltd. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our school and other client locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Maintenance: Ensure that all tasks are run safely and efficiently to the required client standard, maintaining a positive safety culture.
  • Asset Management: Contact contractors to provide first fix to assets, and manage soft elements such as tables and chairs.
  • Incident Reporting: Inform lead clients of incidents and ensure that actions are taken and next steps are communicated.
  • Contractor Management: Manage the work of maintenance, cleaning, and grounds contractors, ensuring that standards are met and actions are recorded.
  • Site Security: Manage and operate site security systems, including fire alarm and intruder alarm systems.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Perform temporary and minor repairs around the school and other client locations, and take the lead on scheduled works.
  • Relationship Management: Liaise and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and hirers of the school, and deal with any problems that arise.
  • Reporting: Report regularly to clients' representatives on future resource requirements and general maintenance of the site and fabric of the school and community estates.
  • Event Planning: Liaise and plan with clients' upcoming events, and support providing flexible working relationships individually and as part of a team.
  • Technology and Process: Work appropriately with technology and process to manage and record day-to-day activity.
  • Compliance: Provide and complete compliance and appropriate documentation for the safe running of the site.
  • Emergency Access: Act as a designated key holder providing emergency access to the school.
  • Portage Duties: Undertake general portage duties, including moving furniture and equipment within the school and other client locations.
  • Confidentiality and Data Protection: Carry out all duties with due regard to confidentiality and data protection regulations.
  • Safeguarding: Adhere to the school's safeguarding policy, which safeguards and promotes the welfare of children.
  • Cleaning and Service Specifications: Provide support and ensure that cleaning and Service Specifications are delivered to the required standard for clients.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure essential weekly documents are completed on sites, and ensure adequate delivery of Health and Safety and compliance.
  • Customer Complaints: Deal with any customer complaints or concerns within a timely and efficient manner.
  • Equipment and Storage: Ensure that equipment and storage areas are kept clean, tidy, and in good working condition, and report machinery faults and replacements.
