Service Engineer - London & Home Counties

At FAFS Fire & Security, we're committed to delivering exceptional service and quality in the design, installation, commissioning, and servicing of automatic Fire Detection, Protection, and Alarm Systems in and around Greater London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Fire and associated systems in accordance with current regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and the Service Manager to enhance the Company's reputation for quality and customer service.
  • Perform scheduled routine servicing in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner, adhering to our Company's quality standards.
  • Carry out all necessary works required at customer premises in line with our Company's quality standards.
  • Support the rota schedule as required to maintain a reliable and responsive out-of-hours service for our customers.
  • Communicate Fire Safety information relevant to the site to our clients' customers.
  • Plan own work, including routine service/maintenance visits, emergency call-out requirements, and remedial repairs and minor additions to existing installations in line with service administration guidance.
  • Manage and secure own equipment stock in an efficient and economical manner by determining stock levels in relation to work activities and ordering stock items as and when appropriate.
  • Operate in accordance with our client's requirements, Company, and customer quality standards and health and safety requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the causes and cures of fire alarm problems, including the ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms as well as changes to the fire detection, alarm systems.
  • Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA).
  • Manufacturers training in all other equipment required, including VESDA, Radio, and Fire Suppression, as decided by the Line Manager based on regional needs.
  • Preferred knowledge and capabilities on working on manufacturers Siemens and Gent analogue Fire alarm systems.
