Job Summary:

The Scottish Public Services Ombudsman is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Assessment and Guidance Team as a Team Assistant. This role plays a pivotal part in providing excellent customer service and support to the public and providers of public services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming enquiry calls and provide relevant guidance and advice on how to make a complaint and information on the role of the SPSO.
  • Set up new complaints on SPSO's complaint handling system, taking lead responsibility for administrative tasks.
  • Work closely with the Assessment and Guidance Team to raise awareness, knowledge, and understanding of our organisation with members of the public and providers of public services.
  • Provide strong administrative support, including data entry and record-keeping.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years' experience of working in a frontline, customer-facing role, ideally with complaints handling.
  • Good knowledge and experience of a customer services environment, ideally within a public service organisation under the Ombudsman's jurisdiction.
  • Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and experience of a range of IT applications.
