Position: General Manager - Premium Golf and Fitness

Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex

Compensation: Approximately £55,000 base salary, with a bonus potential of £22,000, 10% matched pension, and a £3,000 car allowance, along with healthcare benefits.

We are seeking a dedicated General Manager to lead a prestigious Premium Golf and Fitness private members club located in East Grinstead, West Sussex. The club is poised for significant capital investment projects, positioning it as a premier membership destination in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and guide your leadership team and staff to create an exceptional customer experience, fostering a strong sense of community among members.
  • Collaborate with your management team to enhance offerings in golf, fitness, food and beverage, and events, ensuring timely delivery of services to boost participation and retention.
  • Work in conjunction with the Membership department to formulate effective sales strategies aimed at increasing new member acquisitions and event bookings.
  • Maintain full financial oversight, including profit and loss management, income and expenditure tracking, and debtor management, while assisting in budget and business plan development.
  • Ensure that the facility and grounds are consistently well-maintained, clean, and safe for all members and guests.
  • Support the advancement of the site through capital expenditure projects.

Candidate Profile:

  • Professionally presented with excellent communication skills and a personable demeanor.
  • Exhibit a hands-on and strategic leadership style, demonstrating ownership and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years' experience in roles such as General Manager, Centre Manager, Health Club Manager, or Golf Club Management within a high-quality, multimillion-pound golf or health and fitness environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate a culture of service excellence and achieve results through effective team leadership.
  • Proven track record in expanding club membership across various sectors, including golf, fitness, and tennis.
  • Commitment to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
  • Willingness to live or relocate within a reasonable commuting distance to East Grinstead.
