Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Ayr. The successful candidate will be a Registered Children's Nurse with current NMC registration, and experience in Emergency Care is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves being part of a dynamic team, providing high-quality care to pediatric patients. You will need to demonstrate:
- Strong team collaboration skills while also being able to work independently.
- Excellent communication abilities with nursing colleagues and the multidisciplinary team.
- Effective time management and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to care for adult patients when necessary.
Your contribution will be vital in ensuring continuous service delivery and maintaining safe, effective, and person-centered care amidst the daily challenges.
Qualifications and Experience:
To qualify for this role, you should possess:
- First Level Registered Nurse RCN/RN Child branch.
- A proactive approach to seeking new learning opportunities related to pediatric health and well-being.
- Experience in Emergency Department Nursing.
- A willingness to enhance team collaboration skills and work independently.
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a commitment of 34.1 hours per week, with a shift pattern covering seven days. Please note that from April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced, with full-time hours transitioning from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without a reduction in earnings.
Important Note:
NHS Ayrshire and Arran is dedicated to implementing this change, although there may be some areas where the transition takes longer to ensure patient safety. In such cases, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can safely accommodate the new hours.
