Job Summary

New Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Assistant Chef to join our team at Wilmslow Manor Care Centre. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food services to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met, and contributing to their overall positive experience of living in our care home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of our residents, ensuring that meals are presented in an appealing and accessible manner.
  • Manage the kitchen team, allocating duties and supervising staff to ensure a high standard of food preparation and service.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to company HACCP protocols and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Second Chef to ensure seamless food service operations, including breakfast and evening meal services.
  • Contribute to the development of the four-week menu, ensuring that it meets the nutritional and culinary needs of our residents.
  • Maintain accurate records, demonstrating adherence to legal requirements and company policies.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a care home or similar setting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality food services.
  • Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery, with the ability to adapt to changing resident needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, inspiring and motivating staff to achieve high standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, staff, and external partners.
