About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to individual students with specific learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with learning needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement tailored learning plans for each student.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, helping them to feel confident and motivated in their learning.
  • Track and report on student progress to teachers and parents, providing regular updates and insights.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students, including Special Education Coordinators and teaching staff.
Requirements
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • A passion for helping young people learn and grow.

Selection Criteria

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles, and will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
