About the Role

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our team as an Associate Director. As a key member of our planning consultancy, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing planning projects, contributing to the strategic direction of the company, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Provide expert advice on planning policy and appeals, including the preparation and submission of appeals and expert witness statements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local planning authorities.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the company.
  • Mentor and support junior planners, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment.
  • Represent the company at meetings, public inquiries, and other relevant forums.
Requirements
  • Over 5 years of experience as a qualified Town Planner, with MRTPI accreditation.
  • Strong background in planning policy and experience in handling planning appeals.
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering successful planning projects.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to contribute to the growth and development of the business.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
