Position Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing strict timelines while supervising operational upkeep and repairs, as well as executing Senior Authorised Person (SAP) responsibilities in the issuance of High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) Permits to Work.
  • Overseeing defect management and HV commissioning, including Capital Projects with electrical contracts valued at up to £20 million.
  • Serving as the Lead SAP for multiple operational sites of varying sizes and complexities, which include a diverse array of HV and LV switchgear, equipment, and transformers.
  • Participating in the team’s on-call out-of-hours rota.

Location: Base Location – Beckton STW.

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with additional standby rota compensation.

All necessary PPE, tools, and car allowance will be provided.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in the electrical sector, particularly in fault diagnosis on high voltage equipment, along with a solid understanding of BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations).
  • Must be appropriately trained, qualified, and experienced as an Authorised Person, with a preference for candidates who have knowledge of water/wastewater processes and their connection to electrical power distribution systems.
  • Strong team collaboration skills, excellent analytical and interpersonal abilities, effective communication skills, and a readiness to tackle challenging issues.
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role.
