Job Title: VP Legal

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled VP Legal to join our in-house legal team at Marsden. As a key member of our global markets team, you will be responsible for advising on legal and regulatory issues related to OTC and exchange-traded derivatives trading.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on equity and fixed income cash trading, OTC derivatives, exchange-traded derivatives, prime brokerage, repos, securities lending, clearing, structured notes, and foreign exchange.
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the legal and regulatory issues relating to derivatives trading, including EMIR, MiFID II, and MiCA.
  • Work closely with other legal teams across the globe and other legal and compliance groups to ensure seamless collaboration and effective risk management.
  • Be autonomous and self-directed, with a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years' experience in private practice and/or in-house, with a strong understanding of derivatives trading and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
