Telematics Engineer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Telematics Engineer to join our Research and Development Team for a major automotive manufacturer. As a Telematics Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation of on-board Telematics systems, collaborating with connected car design and test teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generation and release of TCU configuration data
  • Managing suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
  • Coordination of in-house and supplier TCU validation
  • Project management of on-board and off-board connected car and infotainment teams
  • Collaboration with Telematics Service Providers, ensuring their development schedules are aligned
  • End-to-end management and delivery of new IT capability or enhancements through various phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Lead and manage highly complex projects with cross-functional impact across a number of technical systems, business domains, divisions, and third parties
Requirements:
  • Degree-educated
  • Experience of Telematics hardware, systems, and knowledge of vehicle connectivity
  • Understanding of mobile network infrastructure and data transfer
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic architecture
  • Experience of Project Management in the IT Industry

Knowledge of 5G technologies, non-European mobile networks, MQTT, End-to-End System architecture, and an understanding of European Ecall regulations is desirable. To meet current legislation, right-to-work checks will be carried out to ensure candidates can work within the UK.
