Senior GIS Architect Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Architect to join our team at Fortice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining GIS applications and services using ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript or Python.

Key Responsibilities:

  • GIS Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain GIS applications and services using ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript or Python.
  • Collaboration and Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for GIS projects.
  • Geospatial Database Management: Create and manage geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Web-Based Mapping Applications: Develop and implement web-based mapping applications and interactive visualization tools.
  • Spatial Analysis and Data Manipulation: Perform spatial analysis and data manipulation using ArcGIS tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL).
  • Workflow Optimization: Optimize GIS workflows and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS applications and systems.
  • System Improvement: Recommend improvements to existing systems based on your knowledge of the latest GIS technologies and best practices.
  • Documentation and Training: Prepare documentation for GIS applications, including user manuals, technical specifications, and training materials.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior GIS developers and guide best practices and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • GIS Development Experience: You will demonstrate experience in GIS development, with a focus on ArcGIS and Opensource GIS technologies.
  • Technical Skills: You will have experience in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Pro, as well as web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular), and proficiency in GIS programming and scripting languages, particularly ArcPy, Arcade, Python, and SQL.
  • GIS Concepts and Spatial Analysis: You will have a solid understanding of GIS concepts, spatial analysis, and cartography.
  • Database Management: You will have experience with spatial databases (e.g., Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL / PostGIS, SQL Server) and data management practices.
  • AI/ML Experience: It would be great if you had some exposure to AI/ML usage in GIS Applications.
