The successful candidate will provide strategic guidance to inform and direct policies, projects, and programmes. They will also be responsible for providing nuclear safety input to design projects, ensuring that nuclear safety requirements are incorporated. Additionally, they will prepare and agree the Safety Case Strategy, manage delivery against cost and programme, and produce, verify, and approve calculations, analyses, design basis documentation, and technical reports.

Hazard Identification and Risk Management

The candidate will lead and participate in Hazard Identification studies, coordinate the production of the safety submission, and support submissions through the various review and approval stages. They will also review and approve design changes, concessions, and technical queries, and manage project risks by closing out safety items on the Technical Issues and Risk Register Database.

Quality and Technical Leadership

The successful candidate will raise quality plans for single discipline work packages, produce, verify, and approve technical Scopes of Work, and assess tender returns. They will also verify and/or approve the outputs to ensure that the requirements of the design sub-contract are met.
