Job Overview:

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team, responsible for engineering design, project planning, reporting, and providing technical and administrative support to all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct engineering design activities for bespoke, clean sheet prototype products, ensuring compliance with project plans and timelines.
  2. Produce concept and detail designs in line with project plans, utilizing strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including stress, forces, materials, thermal analysis, and calculations.
  3. Update project plans and timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables, maintaining open communication with project stakeholders.
  4. Produce comprehensive reports detailing project progress and outcomes, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
  5. Provide technical and administrative support on all projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project success.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience working in a design manufacturing environment producing complex components, preferably in aerospace or medical devices.
  2. Qualified in Mechanical Engineering to HNC or NVQ level 5, with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  3. Strong background in design/project engineering and administration, with proficiency in a 3D design package such as Solidworks.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with excellent communication and project management skills.
