Job Description

Role Overview

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated History Teacher to join our team of educators. As a History Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire students and shape their understanding of the past.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging lessons that cover a wide range of historical periods, events, and themes, ensuring students develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject.
  • Create or adapt teaching resources, such as lesson plans, worksheets, and multimedia presentations, to support student learning and engagement.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student participation and engagement.
  • Assess student understanding through various methods, including exams, essays, projects, and presentations, and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
  • Promote diversity and inclusivity in teaching, reflecting the experiences of different social groups and marginalized communities.
  • Organize or supervise extra-curricular activities, such as history clubs, field trips, or participation in historical competitions and events.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a teacher within an educational setting.
  • Original or certified copies of degree certificates relevant to teaching history subjects.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) certificate or evidence of completion of a recognized teacher training program.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Business Studies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Safeguarding and Child Protection

This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
