About the Role

Russell Taylor Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Chemist to join our team as a Principal Analyst in our Organic Testing Laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with ISO 17025:2017 and MCERTS requirements.
  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation and equipment.
  • Develop and implement business improvement ideas to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the laboratory.
  • Investigate and conduct non-routine methodology and data generation as required by clients and the business.
  • Support the organic department in areas requiring advanced expertise in analytical chemistry.
  • Perform ongoing training for the organic laboratory team.
  • Respond to client queries in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including investigation of audit actions.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety and ISO14001 requirements.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in a relevant scientific or chemistry-based discipline (or higher).
  • Have 5+ years of experience in an analytical organic testing laboratory working to UKAS 17025 standards.
  • Have experience in GC MS/GC method development and method validation.
  • Have experience in training analysts on associated test equipment and QMS.
  • Have experience in reporting analytical results internally and externally.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
