Join Mencap as a dedicated Care Assistant and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
In this role, you will have the chance to support a diverse group of individuals, each with their own unique needs and abilities. Your contributions will help enhance their daily lives and promote independence.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with everyday activities, providing emotional support, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. You will work across various services, ensuring that no two days are alike.
In our community support service, you will aid individuals in maintaining their homes, managing household bills, and accessing local resources. Your role will also involve teaching essential life skills such as cooking and budgeting.
Within our supported living environment, you will collaborate with a team to support individuals in shared accommodations. Your tasks will encompass medication management, financial assistance, and personal care support, as well as meal planning and preparation.

· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
· A positive and understanding attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract Details:
· Relief positions available as needed.
Shift Information:
Our services operate 24/7 and include sleep shifts. Rotas are prepared four weeks in advance to accommodate your personal schedule.
Shift Patterns:
· Day/Evening Shifts: 07:00-10:00, 10:00-15:00, 15:00-22:00
· Sleep Shifts: 22:00-07:00
Sleep-in shifts offer an enhanced flat rate payment.
*All positions are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
