Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEND Support

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in a school environment. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND in the classroom, providing individualized attention and care.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with individual education plans, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Assist with personal care tasks for students as required, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, promoting positive behaviour and reducing challenging behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Teaching Assistant Level 1 qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with students with SEND, particularly those with SEMH and ASD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with SEND.

Working Conditions:

This role will primarily be based in a classroom setting within a school environment. Some tasks may require physical exertion and personal care assistance.
