About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and availability of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Plant Availability: Develop and implement a program of planned preventative maintenance and inspection to minimize downtime and ensure effective repairs and improvements are conducted within minimum time scales.
  • Provide Breakdown Repair Service: Diagnose running faults and ensure effective repairs and improvements are conducted within minimum time scales.
  • Carry Out Minor Maintenance Operations: Perform routine maintenance tasks to plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Liaise with External Contractors: Collaborate with external contractors on specific repairs/maintenance work to ensure seamless execution.
  • Ensure Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes to health & safety and environmental legislation and company policies to ensure defined standards and best practice are implemented.
Requirements
  • Engineering Qualifications: Hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualifications.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Additional relevant qualifications are desirable.
