English Teacher - SEN SchoolWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team at an SEN school in Southampton. As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons tailored to students with special educational needs across KS2 - KS4.
- Support the development of literacy and communication skills through creative and student-centred approaches.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure that all students are receiving appropriate and personalised learning support.
- Use assessment and feedback to inform instruction and ensure progress is tracked effectively.
- Collaborate with the SENCo, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement personalised education plans and individual behaviour plans.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to learn.
- Provide regular updates to parents/carers regarding student progress and well-being.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism or experience in English.
- Experience teaching students with a range of special educational needs, in a mainstream or SEND setting.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and the ability to differentiate lessons effectively.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
- A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs.
- A supportive and collaborative working environment.
