Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Out-of-School Educator to join our team at Westway Trust. This role involves providing educational support during after-school hours, focusing on enhancing the learning experience for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality educational activities for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
  • Engage with children to improve their academic performance, particularly in literacy skills such as reading, writing, and spelling.
  • Collaborate with the Traveller Teacher/mentor to share insights on children's progress and tailor support to meet individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's achievements and progress for monitoring purposes.
  • Encourage family involvement in the educational journey of their children.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
  • Assist in setting up and clearing the learning environment before and after sessions.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of educational policies and practices relevant to supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children and families.
  • The ability to self-assess and seek out further learning opportunities for children.
