CMC Markets is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Group Head of Internal Audit to lead the 3rd line of defence across the business. This is a key and senior hire for the company, requiring a strong leader who can work closely with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the annual and 3-year internal audit plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and participate in delivering complex and challenging audit assignments, leveraging expertise in audit methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with management to identify and address meaningful issues impacting business and operations, ensuring effective remedial action is taken.
  • Prepare draft audit reports for review by management, providing clear and concise recommendations for improvement.
  • Effectively track and chase audit actions, testing their implementation prior to sign off.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, participating in Continuous Monitoring activities and representing Internal Audit at management meetings/committees.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring the Internal Audit function remains relevant and effective.
Requirements
  • 8-10 years of post-qualification experience in financial services or banking, with a proven track record in leading and delivering risk-based projects.
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of audit methodologies, global regulation, and key areas of regulatory focus.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio, with knowledge of JIRA and Confluence beneficial.
  • Ideal education to degree level or equivalent professional experience, with a recognised relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CIMA, CMIIA, ACA, ACCA).
