Job Overview

An esteemed manufacturer specializing in equipment for the automotive sector is seeking a versatile Field Service Engineer to provide exceptional support to clients throughout the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

In the role of Field Service Engineer, you will be tasked with delivering both remote assistance and on-site service operations, including inspections, evaluations, and maintenance of equipment, production lines, and automation systems. You will be recognized as a product authority, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

While on-site at client locations, your responsibilities will encompass conducting machine inspections, performing maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting issues, and executing installations, in addition to providing training to customers.

During your visits, you will have the opportunity to suggest products and services tailored to meet customer requirements.

Visits to the primary Service Centre will involve reporting service opportunities to the service and sales teams for further action.

As you gain experience and become familiar with the machinery, you will also be responsible for training and mentoring new field service engineers, as well as offering support to the service sales team.

Required Experience:

The ideal candidate for the Field Service Engineer position will have prior experience in a similar service engineering capacity, particularly with high-value capital equipment within related industries, such as food or industrial manufacturing.

You should possess confidence in interpreting technical documentation, including flow diagrams, electrical schematics, P&ID, and maintenance manuals.

Qualifications:

A formal qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, or Process Automation is essential for this role (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree).

Additionally, holding an Electrical Certification, such as the 16th/17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations or an equivalent, is required.

Additional Information:

Candidates MUST possess a Full Clean UK driving license.

Candidates MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK, with documentation available for verification.

This is a field-based position, thus you MUST be comfortable with travel and overnight stays for on-site visits across the UK and Europe.

Compensation: Salary is dependent on experience, with a potential basic salary of up to £41k, plus overtime, bonuses, a company vehicle, and additional benefits.
