Accounts Assistant Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team at First Base Employment. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process incoming mail and invoices, and accurately input data into accounting software.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Manage overdue customer accounts through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Assist colleagues with questions regarding invoice statuses and payment schedules.
  • Ensure timely payment of supplier invoices according to agreed terms.
  • Prepare and send customer statements via email.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for both suppliers and customers.
  • Document daily financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Input data, generate financial reports and statements, and oversee employee expense reimbursements.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Xero.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental finance and accounts payable/receivable concepts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills and comfort with large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated individual with a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.
