About the Role

KPMG is expanding its Tax and Legal practice to enhance its support for clients in connection to their pensions obligations. Our pensions team collaborates with 2,400 plus Tax and Legal colleagues, and the new roles will focus on delivering advice across our client base on matters relating to pension provision and other pensions-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality actuarial pensions advice in relation to defined benefit pension schemes, with a focus on the public sector but also schemes in the private sector.
  • Work closely with senior members of the team to provide strategic journey planning, risk management, and endgame options, including the use of surplus.
  • Offer strategic funding advice to sponsors and advice on compliance with DB funding code.
  • Provide pension due diligence on mergers and acquisitions.
  • Offer member education and communication.
  • Advise on benefit change, benefit design, and implementation.
  • Advise on good governance and compliance.
  • Pensions accounting advice.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in pensions actuarial at either an employee benefit consultancy or other Big 4 firm.
  • Basic knowledge of defined benefit pension scheme valuations, roll forward methodologies, LGPS funding methodologies, and actuarial techniques.
  • Understanding of the wider UK pensions landscape.
  • IT literate with sound knowledge and experience of MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree with a mathematical/financial nature.
  • Part-qualified actuary having passed some FIA exams (or equivalent).
