Position Overview
Forbes Solicitors is seeking a Finance Administrator to become a vital part of our Finance Team. This is a full-time position, offering 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
The Finance Administrator will be tasked with achieving successful financial operations, including but not limited to:

  • Executing daily banking operations;
  • Facilitating online electronic bank transactions, including CHAPS, BACS, and Faster Payments;
  • Conducting bank reconciliations for both client and business accounts;
  • Performing reconciliations of client ledgers;
  • Managing petty cash administration;
  • Processing client and office accounting entries, including postings;
  • Handling client to office transfers;
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations;
  • Maintaining the Month End SRA Compliance Folder;
  • Responding to internal and external financial inquiries;

Application Process

Essential Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Finance Administrator in a legal context;
  • Strong numerical aptitude;
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines;
  • Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Able to collaborate effectively within a team environment, providing support as needed;

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with accounting procedures;
  • Experience as a legal finance administrator with knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules;
  • Previous exposure to case management systems, preferably Partner for Windows;
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes.
