Job Summary

The Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide expert advice and support regarding the clinical management of patients with diabetes in secondary care areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Pro-actively promote and support Think Glucose across secondary care areas.
  • Provide clinical assessment and appropriate management strategies for patients including lifestyle choices, oral hypoglycaemic agents, insulin and GLP1, and blood glucose monitoring support.
  • Actively engage in structured education programmes for people with diabetes.
  • Actively engage in training staff in diabetes management.

Job Requirements
  • Registered General nurse with a BSc in adult nursing.
  • Post registration clinical experience in diabetes care.
  • Experience in teaching others in the clinical role.
