Position Overview

We are seeking to fill 2 full-time positions for Consultant in Geriatric Psychiatry within our dedicated Older Adults in-patient unit. The successful candidates will collaborate with experienced Consultant Psychiatrists, Specialty and Junior Doctors.

Key Responsibilities

This role is part of a well-respected and nurturing environment, focusing on inpatient care while maintaining the Continuity of Care Model. You will engage closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, occupational therapists, and nursing staff.

Job Duties

As a teaching Trust, we provide educational opportunities for undergraduates from various medical schools and participate in the Black Country training scheme, supporting core and higher specialist trainees from the West Midlands School of Psychiatry. We have a strong track record of assisting Specialty Doctors in preparing for postgraduate examinations and pursuing Higher Specialist Training. There are ample opportunities for those interested in education and research. Specialty Doctors will typically participate in an on-call rota, averaging 1:11 for out-of-hours coverage.
