Substation Inspector

Position Overview:

Join our dedicated maintenance and inspection team at SSE Enterprise, where your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough evaluations of equipment at substation locations. You will ensure that all sites are maintained and accessible, free from vegetation obstructions.

Location: Isle of Wight

Compensation: £28,072 - £32,605, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Working Hours: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections on both distribution (11kV) and primary (33kV) substations.
  • Document findings accurately to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Identify potential faults within the distribution network and follow the appropriate escalation procedures.
  • Work independently while meeting strict deadlines and implementing effective business improvements.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A solid understanding of ESQC Regulations and the ability to conduct risk assessments.
  • Basic IT proficiency for data collection and familiarity with Office 365 applications.
  • Flexibility to adapt to business needs.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A basic level of fitness for the physically demanding aspects of the role.
  • A valid driving license, as travel may be required to meet business demands.
