Job Overview
The Warehouse Team Leader plays a crucial role in assisting the Shift Manager with overseeing team operations. This position focuses on motivating personnel, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, and enforcing company policies while maintaining high standards for product picking and dispatching in alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the shift team to achieve or surpass productivity and service KPIs.
- Oversee the Goods Inwards section and Loading bays to facilitate prompt and safe receipt of goods, ensuring stock availability for order fulfillment.
- Train and develop team members to maximize their contributions and support succession planning.
- Conduct disciplinary and grievance interviews in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist the Shift Manager with various tasks within the Warehouse operations.
- Supervise the cross-docking activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace at all times.
- Deliver daily briefings to the team, ensuring they are informed of all pertinent information necessary for their roles.
- Ensure compliance with the company's Health, Safety, and Welfare policies across all warehouse areas.
- Monitor and optimize the work environment for maximum efficiency.
- Align shift performance with workload and Key Performance Indicators.
- Ensure full utilization of available resources at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience in warehouse operations.
- Proven ability to manage a large team effectively.
- Familiarity with Warehouse and Logistics operations in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Dependable and conscientious work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Capability to perform efficiently under pressure.
- Strong prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
- Proactive decision-making abilities.
