Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our temporary staffing bank at The Royal Free Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

As a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings, delivering high-quality care to patients with mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement patient care, ensuring that our trust values are met.
  • Maintain a safe environment in the ward/department, prioritizing infection control and patient safety.
  • Provide one-to-one specialist care to individual patients, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their carers.
  • Maintain skills, knowledge, and competencies, adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and trust policies.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification.
  • 6 months experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse or possession of a nationally recognized preceptorship qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with patients experiencing mental health problems in an inpatient setting.
  • Experience of providing 1:1 care to individual patients and multi-disciplinary team working.

  • Demonstrable ability to meet the trust values.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify actual and potential risks.
  • Interest in learning and developing advanced practical and clinical skills relevant to the specialty.
