Editorial Assistant

Bloomsbury Education is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Editorial Assistant to join its dynamic team. As a key member of the editorial department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the editors, senior editors, and commissioning editors in the publication of exciting books for teachers, parents, and children.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support to the editorial team, including maintaining the publishing schedule, preparing agendas for meetings, and minuting key departmental discussions.
- Ensure title records are up to date in the Biblio title management system.
- Organize and assist editors with the creation of advance information sheets, catalogue copy, and book fair materials.
- Assist with proofreading, photo research, and editing of projects as required by the editorial and commissioning team.
- Liaise with sales, production, design, marketing, and editors to ensure that sales materials are produced on time.
- Read submissions on behalf of the commissioning editors and assist them in responding.
- Send out book proposals for review, chase, and track feedback.
- Respond to general book-related queries.
- Represent the education list at sales conferences and events as required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Some office experience preferred.
- Demonstrable interest in education publishing essential and experience an advantage.
