About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a skilled and experienced Cover Teacher to join our team in York, North Yorkshire. As a Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of permanent staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Delivery: Deliver engaging and well-planned lessons to students, following the curriculum and lesson plans provided.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain discipline and order in the classroom, ensuring students follow the school's behavior and conduct policies.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with school staff, including the principal, other teachers, and support staff.
  • Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times, including during breaks, lunch, and other activities.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have worked in a classroom in the last two years.
  • Behaviour Management: Be confident in your approach to managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Communication Skills: Be a strong communicator with staff and students alike.
  • DBS: Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
  • Driving License: Hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle for commuting to different schools.
