About the Position:
The successful SEN Education Specialist Solicitor will be an admitted Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX of England and Wales with a current practising certificate. Good knowledge of both mainstream and SEN education law and practices are essential.
You will be ambitious, a team player, driven by delivering a high-quality service, and have a positive attitude towards building relationships with social workers and your wider team.
The ability to work under pressure is imperative, be self-motivated, and able to work to deadlines. The Council value delivering a great service to their clients and those employed by the council must demonstrate the ability to take responsibility, be kind, always willing to learn and exhibit equality and integrity in all their actions.
Previous SEN education local authority experience is desirable. You will also need to be comfortable undertaking some advocacy.
About You:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Education Specialist Solicitor who can provide legal advice in relation to SEN Education law and manage a caseload of varied complex matters with minimal supervision.
You will be expected to act as a senior and specialist legal advisor and support a significant portfolio of work which directly delivers on the Council's key priorities and areas of risk.
Work closely with Elected Members and Directorate and Corporate teams as required to provide strategic support.
