This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate within the MEH Alliance on the significant Hinkley Point C Nuclear initiative. The alliance focuses on integrating and coordinating the delivery of all primary Mechanical, Electrical, and HVAC services, ensuring a cohesive approach among various contractors to facilitate the intricate installation of cabling and piping throughout the power station's extensive facilities.
Role Overview
As a Mechanical Construction Project Engineer, your responsibilities will be distinctive. You will lead, manage, and inspire your team by implementing best practices, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and site license requirements.
On a daily basis, you will deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks to support the MEH Alliance program while promoting a positive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture throughout the construction lifecycle of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the utilization of the Procon system to enhance construction activities and progress reporting for the MEH Alliance.
- Ensure compliance with the Work Authorisation and Permit systems managed by NNB.
- Coordinate safe access routes to work areas to support the MEH Alliance construction efforts.
- Oversee topographical and other surveying tasks necessary for the MEH Alliance construction activities.
- Manage documentation prioritization to enable construction operations in accordance with the project plan.
- Verify that all documents align with the latest project information and MEH documentation.
This is a full-time position with a commitment of 37 hours per week. We offer a 9-day fortnight schedule (every other Friday off).
Essential Qualifications for the Mechanical Construction Project Engineer:
- Proven experience in major construction projects, with a strong background in highly regulated sectors and knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
- Nuclear site experience is not mandatory.
- Experience in delivering projects at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including work within Joint Ventures.
Qualifications:
- HNC/ONC or equivalent vocational training and experience in the installation of Mechanical and Piping systems.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to obtain BPSS security clearance for this role.
