Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Infraspec, where you will play a key role in delivering complex construction projects and developing cost plans to ensure financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Planning and Control: Develop and maintain cost plans and cost estimates for larger projects (typically greater than £100 million), working on full life cycle projects from inception through to completion.
- Project Cost Management: Prepare detailed budgets and cost estimates at various project stages, from initial concept to final construction, including internal costs.
- Cost Risk Management: Conduct accurate measurement, rate analysis, and risk assessments to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within budget and provide optimal value.
- Contract Administration: Administer contracts for design and construction contracts as they are awarded, including change management.
- Reporting and Forecasting: Accurately report on spend, anticipated final cost, and forecasting future months' expenditures through to completion.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in a cost engineering, contract management, or commercial role within the construction or infrastructure sectors working on projects typically over £5 million.
- Education: Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
- Skills: Full working knowledge and understanding of using web-based contract management tools (e.g. CEMAR), thorough understanding of NEC suite of contracts, and associated contract administration and negotiations.
