Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of construction methodologies and sequences for tunnelling activities, including site preparations, excavation support, and tunnel boring machine (TBM) operations.
  • Accountable for the integrity and compliance of technical solutions with project specifications, ensuring they deliver value for the client.
  • Oversee a team of engineers and CAD technicians, providing guidance and support in technical tasks.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to mitigate safety hazards associated with tunnelling activities.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to prepare tender documents and manage subcontractor relationships effectively.
  • Ensure timely communication of relevant information across various project scopes to maintain alignment and efficiency.
  • Engage with the marine technical team to ensure interdisciplinary consistency in project execution.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in underground and tunnelling projects, particularly in engineering, design, or methods roles.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • In-depth knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

Desirable:

  • Certification as a Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • Experience with TBM bored tunnels and mechanical excavation techniques.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and monitoring technologies relevant to tunnelling.
