We are seeking a motivated individual for the role of National Supply Chain Coordinator within our Sustainability division. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in challenging work while fostering personal and professional growth in a stable environment.
In this role, you will assist in executing our Global Sustainability Strategy by monitoring and evaluating the progress of sustainability initiatives across Aldi UK and Ireland, particularly focusing on transportation emissions. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the National Supply Chain Manager in executing projects aimed at minimizing Aldi's environmental footprint.
- Ensuring compliance with project timelines.
- Tracking sustainability projects and trials to achieve carbon reduction goals.
- Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to promote sustainability efforts.
- Facilitating the efficient exchange of information with internal and external partners.
- Communicating complex information clearly and effectively to relevant audiences.
- Encouraging various departments to incorporate sustainability into their decision-making processes.
- Proactively enhancing your knowledge of sustainability topics and suggesting innovative ways to reduce operational carbon emissions.
- Staying informed about technological advancements and competitor strategies in sustainability.
- Preparing documentation such as memos and business cases to present the team's initiatives and projects.
- Aligning inbound and outbound sustainability strategies.
About You
- Understanding of sustainability practices, particularly in transport emissions, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with colleagues across all levels.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication, with the ability to build productive relationships.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on prioritization.
- A keen interest in continuous improvement and process simplification.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Aptitude for analyzing challenges and proposing solutions.
- Commitment to personal development and adaptability to workload demands.
- Ability to influence stakeholders positively to support sustainability initiatives.
- Experience in developing and implementing business cases is advantageous.
- Previous experience in sustainability within retail or third-party logistics is desirable.
- Background in retail is a plus.
- Experience in transport sustainability is beneficial.

- Competitive starting salary ranging from £36,080 to £42,135.
- Standard working hours from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of remote work two days a week.
